What “natural flavors” means (for us)

Our Natural Flavors, Explained

We get this question a lot. And we understand why!

If you care about what goes into your body, “natural flavors” can feel vague. So here’s exactly what it means in a Rootless bite.

Our Daily Bites are food.

First, context: our Daily Bites are food.
Dates, nuts, seeds, seaweed. And a little crispy quinoa for crunch.

Natural flavors make up a very small portion of the formula. They’re there for one reason: to make something deeply nutrient-dense actually enjoyable to eat every day.

Because if it doesn’t taste good, you won’t take it.
And consistency is where the benefits come from.

What “natural flavors” means (for us)

We partner with a women-led flavor house that uses proprietary technology to create consistent flavor profiles from natural sources derived from plants.

Think: spices, fruits and vegetable extracts, herbs, roots, and botanicals, essential oils and aromatic compounds.

They’re used to round out flavor. No artificial flavors. No artificial sweeteners. No artificial colors. No preservatives.

Everything used meets FDA standards for natural flavoring (GRAS) and is certified vegan.

WHY?

Rootless is built on a simple idea: if it’s not something we’d eat every day, it doesn’t make the cut.

Natural flavors help us deliver something that is nutrient-dense, consistent, AND actually enjoyable.

The Bottom Line

You’re not eating “mystery chemicals.”

You’re eating real food, supported by small amounts of plant-derived ingredients that make it work, day after day.
